| 内容記述 | 主題語「犬(suns)」を含むラトヴィア語のことわざ文脈にはどのような「縁語」が現れるかを調査する。数種類の名詞縁語と動詞縁語が現れることわざ文脈を観察した結果、ラトヴィア語の犬ことわざには、次の三つの文化的価値観を伴う「犬観」が反映しているらしいということを指摘する。(1)犬の習性(本能)的行動と犬自体の顕著な身体的特徴。(2)犬と人間との相互(主従)関係;犬は人間の忠実な協力者。(3)犬は人間とは一線を画すべき卑しい存在。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This note attempts to elucidate Latvians' culture-oriented typical views of dogs through the observation of their traditional 'dog (suns)' proverbs. Attention is mainly paid to the contextually associated words coexisting with the keyword 'dog' in many proverbs. Latvians' own cultural sense of value with respect to dogs seems to be involved with the following three factors. Namely, they seem to concentrate their own cognition on; (1) dogs' instinctive behavior and their unique physical features. (2) dog-human relationships based on a kind of homage which particularly emphasizes dogs' loyalty to their owners. (3) dogs as a mean domestic animal which are often regarded as the object of contempt in human society. | |||||||||
